After founder Tricia lost her mother to l to melanoma skin cancer, she became a big advocate of wearing sunscreen. However, most of the sunscreens on the market used organic UV filters like Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Octocrylene, Avobenzone, etc. which were linked to potential endocrine disruption. After several years of research and investigation, a decision was made to develop her own sun care line.
